About the de Young Museum
Situated in Golden Gate Park, the de Young Museum features American art from the 17th through the 21st centuries, as well as art from Africa, Oceania, and the Americas. The museum’s distinctive architecture and rotating exhibitions offer visitors a rich cultural experience.

FREE ADMISSION
When is admission free at de Young Museum?
Admission to the de Young Museum is free on the first Tuesday of every month for all visitors, and every Saturday for residents of the nine Bay Area counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma) with valid ID or proof of residency.
These free admissions apply to the museum’s permanent collection galleries; special exhibitions may require a separate ticket. Additionally, visitors aged 17 and under always receive free admission to the permanent collection galleries. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 AM to 5:15 PM.
